Course Description

“The Rocky Mountain High… Studying GI... in July” experience promises to be an unforgettable collage of interactive presentations focusing on a systematic diagnostic and therapeutic approach to a variety of gastrointestinal maladies in dogs and cats. 

Emphasis will be placed on the approach to the chronically vomiting or diarrheic dog and cat, practical tips for working up animals with swallowing disorders, learning what’s new in the diagnosis and management of feline pancreatitis, and becoming more comfortable diagnosing and managing animals with infectious causes of diarrhea.  The updated classification of canine and feline liver disease will also be discussed. 

Each subject will be highlighted by a potpourri of interactive clinical cases to emphasize important clinical concepts.

Learning Objectives

As a result of attending this seminar, the attendee will

  • become more comfortable with working through complex GI cases in a systematic fashion.
  • become familiar with the indications and options for pharmacologic and dietary management of acute and chronic gastroenteritis, including IBD.
  • Gain new insight into the indications and limitations of diagnostic tests commonly utilized to work-up animals with GI disease.
