Course Description

This 2 day course will focus on the common cardiac diseases seen in small animal veterinary medicine.  We will discuss diagnostic steps, treatment controversies and management decisions through the use of detailed case presentations and interactive group discussions.  Diseases which will be covered include hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, dilated cardiomyopathy, arrhythmogenic right ventricular cardiomyopathy, thromboembolic disease, pulmonary hypertension, atrial fibrillation, degenerative mitral valve disease, heartworm disease and some common congenital cardiac diseases.

 

Learning Objectives

As a result of this course, attendees will:

  • Understand the controversies in treatment and make appropriate management decisions in feline cardiac disease.
  • Be able to diagnose and make appropriate management and treatment decisions in canine cardiac disease.
